About Arielle
Something shifted.
I'd spent years doing precise realism, small, detailed colored pencil drawings. Careful. Controlled. And then one day that wasn't enough anymore.
I started chasing a feeling instead. The feeling of floating on your back in the ocean at sunset. Eyes closed. The colors of the sky washing over your face. Complete silence except the sound of your own breathing. That suspended moment where the world falls away and something in you quietly resets.
That's what my work is about. The figures I paint live in that moment, suspended between dissolving and becoming. Not just the look of water but what it feels like to be held by it. The way it blurs the edges of things, bends the light, floods everything with color until you can't tell where you end and the world begins. The way it creates space to breathe, to let go, to begin again.
Rebirth is a theme that runs through everything I make. I'm drawn to those moments in life that change you, the ones that open you up and leave you a little different than before. Transformation isn't always soft. Sometimes it's electric. I try to paint both truths at once, the chaos and the stillness living inside each other.
That resonance has carried further than I ever expected. My original works and limited edition prints are held in private collections around the world.
